We LOVE trying out new skin care recipes with essential oils and wanted to share some of our favorites with you!! To make your own recipes, choose a base oil and add other carrier oils and essential oils and blend together. I always add rosehip oil and carrot seed oil to my recipes. They are high in vitamin A and stimulate cell turnover. When you make a blend, store it in a dark colored bottle. Buy small amounts of oils at the time. Try to use the oil within 3-6 months. If you buy larger bottles of carrier oils or the weather is hot, store in the refrigerator to prevent the oil from oxidizing and becoming rancid. (I store all of my carrier oils in the refrigerator just to be safe) Blend up a recipe to last a couple of weeks. Use the blend when you’ve washed your face or when you get out of the shower while you are still WET! The water allows for the oils to be absorbed better. A lotion is and oil and water emulsified together. This eliminates the need for an emulsifier which often times is harmful to the body.
